After taking her secondary school finals, Attorney Dr Diana Hembach (née Löhr) studied law at the University of Cologne. During her years in law school, she was active first in the prestigious Rodert & Adenauer notaries' office and then in the dean's office of the law faculty.
After completing her first State examination, Dr Hembach worked at the chair of Prof Dr Jürgen Seier and as an institute assistant of the managing director (last with Prof Dr Claus Kreß, LL.M.) at the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law of Cologne University for several years. At that time, she also worked on her doctoral degree under Prof Dr Jürgen Seier, presenting a thesis on criminal procedure law. Dr Hembach was awarded the academic title of "Akademische Rätin auf Zeit" after passing her second State examination.
For several years, she also worked as a research assistant on behalf of the Gercke | Wollschläger law firm. She was admitted to the bar in March 2012.
She successfully participated in the course to obtain the title of a "lawyer specializing in criminal law".
Lawyer Dr Hembach is a member of the Association for the Promotion of the Institute for Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law at the University of Cologne.
Dr Hembach speaks German, English and French.
